kriptiks Posted January 15, 2012 Report Posted January 15, 2012 Hello all,I am planning a trip for 2 to Vegas in June. I know it's kind of a long time away, but I want to make sure I am on top of it. I'm looking to get a 5 star hotel on the strip somewhere for a pretty good price. I did the Travelocity rebid zones from 130-165 and got nothing. I'm in no rush, but am I doing something wrong?
thereuare Posted January 15, 2012 Report Posted January 15, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please start by reading your messages. Then, i'm not sure how you used Travelocity for your re-bid zones, but the only way to determine your re-bid zones is outlined here: Priceline Re-Bidding Explained. Is this the method you're using to determine your re-bid zones? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. kriptiks Posted January 15, 2012 Author Report Posted January 15, 2012 yeah i followed the rebid zones guide and i used the zones listed in JasonGSD's thread herei also been looking on hotwire, but didnt see much in the range. thats why i was leaning towards priceline because it seems like better deals were found thereedit:here are the rebid zones for 5*Boulder StripFremontHendersonLake Los VegasAirportConvention CenterNW Las VegasNear Las Vegas Strip EastNear Las Vegas Strip WestNellisSummerlin
thereuare Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 Currently rates for these dates are very expensive and i'm doubtful that $160 will be enough, but if you want to give it a try, using your ELEVEN re-bid zones, i'd bid as follows:Select 5* Strip North and Strip South...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $148, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $153, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $158, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. kriptiks Posted January 16, 2012 Author Report Posted January 16, 2012 why is that weekend so expensive?
thereuare Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 There is a 32K person conference taking place during your dates and while Vegas can absorb this somewhat easily, it likely is having an effect on hotel rates at this time... if there is anything else taking place during this time frame (boxing match, concert, etc) it compounds the issue. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
