tech1932 Posted January 13, 2012 Report Posted January 13, 2012 I just "won" a room at the Gran Melia (one pre-cruise night, 2/11/12) for $110.00 on PL. My first experience (not good) with PL and I made the fatal mistake of not seeing the "resort" box checked when I submitted a higher bid. From what I've seen, this place is not exactly what I picture when I think "resort". We really were hoping for the Sheraton OSJ or something actually IN OSJ. The taxi/shuttle fare from the airport to the resort is $68 and $80 from the resort to the pier! There goes any $$ I saved by using PL. I'm thinking of just canceling the room, eating the $110 and booking a room in OSJ!!!

tech1932 Posted January 14, 2012 Author Report Posted January 14, 2012 I just went through 2 people at PL (a regular customer service rep and her supervisor with no luck. I explained what I had done and pleaded my case asking not for a refund but simply a credit towards another room in OSJ. They both quoted the company line saying they cannot issue credit or refund (but they did give me a $10 credit towards another reservation. When I asked to speak with someone up another level she told me I had reached the highest level available on phone. My next option is writing corporate in Connecticut. Doesn't look promising...have you heard of ANYONE ever receiving credit? Thanks, Jim
