albinohayford Posted January 12, 2012 Report Posted January 12, 2012 I've been bidding for several days now, using re-bid zones to try to get a 3* to 3 1/2* hotel in the Times Square / TheaterDistrict zone of New York City. I start at $100 and work my way up by $5 increments until I get to $160 and nada, zip, zilch. Am I bidding too early? Do I really have to bid over $200? Priceline is supposed to be 60% less than other websites. What am I missing here?
AaronJB Posted January 12, 2012 Report Posted January 12, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)PRICELINE often provides an excellent discount, but there is no standard discount level, and discounts - while still good - may be less if it's a busy period/season. Rates can also vary substantially from day-to-day and season-to-season. In the case, you're dealing with the popular Spring season and possibly a graduation or two. Are you only looking for TS/Theater District? (which tends to be the most expensive zone in the NYC area) What would be your desired budget per night?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
