purplelotus
I bid three days ago for a 3.5* hotel in same area. Highest bid was $54. Rejected and no counter. Today I started at $56 (my cost was $51 since I had $5 off email from Priceline) and bid up to $75 using free re-bid zones. All rejected and no counters. So I thought I'd try a 3*. First bid was $55 (my cost $50) and was accepted so maybe I overpaid. (I thought that was a lowball offer.) Total cost was $180.15. Nevertheless, I think it's a good deal, and I checked the hotel's web site. Cheapest room is $93 and that's a non-refundable rate. AAA rate was $99. Also pleased that hotel has free airport and area shuttle and free wifi. Don't plan to rent a car -- will use public transport -- so parking fee at hotel not a concern.
