Priceline Hotel: First time user, should I, or shouldn't I

Hiya, I am new to all this game, but feel that I want to try and make the most of our trip to NYC, so here goes.

We are travelling as a family of 6 ( four adults, two children 13 and 10)

This isn't our first trip to the city, but it is for the children, and ideally I would like to make it very special for them.

So, travelling 9 - 13 February wanting to stay Midtown West/Times Square/Madison Square Garden area.

At the moment we have a booking for the Affinia 50 for two junior suites and we are paying about

Priceline guarantees accomodations for two adults so when bidding in NYC, you could end up in a room with one double bed and a room so small that you'll have to go outside just to change your mind. :lol: On the other hand, HOTWIRE may be a better option as you can search for the number of guests in your party.

That rate works out to about $1250 USD, or about $155 per night per suite. Does your rate include taxes? How much would you want to save to make this worth your while?

It is $1250 including taxes.

I am not so worried as making a saving, as for the rooms we have I think we have a fairly good rate. I am not so worried about making a saving, but just wonder if I could get a better option for my money.

Its almost like hotel roulette!

Given you need more than double occupancy, i think you have a very good deal at the Affinia 50 and i would stick with that (unless you want to risk booking rooms for double occupancy, which we don't typically recommend in NYC)... although if you're interested in 3 rooms (for double occupancy each) you might be able to get close to the price of your current reservation and have an extra room, space, bathroom, etc. Whether this is 'better' for your plans or not depends upon the needs of your group.
