I don't know which hotel this is, but i think there are few reported 'wins' in this area because Priceline is usually a few dollars cheaper and all of the 3* hotels that have been reported thus far (via Priceline) typically receive very favorable reviews. Also, downtown Miami is not really a 'resort' area so no need to ensure that you're at a beachfront property (or other specific amenity), which is one of the major advantages to Hotwire.

Is there a reason your hesitant to try Priceline for this stay, or are you just comparing your options?

Thanks for your help. I tried priceline and since it was Presidents day weekend and Valentines Day weekend I was happy to book 3 rooms at the 3.5* hyatt regency miami at the price of $64 per room per night. It had all the same amenities as my previous post so it seems to me that the hotwire hotel could be the Hyatt Regency. I am not sure if we would have done better by waiting awhile but we were happy after doing some research with the price we paid. Thanks for your suggestion for using priceline. I was a bit hesitant but am happy now that I did it! Thanks again

Glad we could help!

Could you please clarify... did you end up booking the 3.5* hotel above OR did you use Priceline and bid 3* (priceline doesn't rate hotels 3.5*), so i'm just a little confused as to whether this was a Priceline or Hotwire 'win'. If you went with Priceline, was $64 for your first bid?

Thanks!

Sorry for the confusion. I went to priceline and bid for a 3* hotel in downtown MIami. I bid $50 .( I had been looking at hotwire all week and the only thing that came up in the downtown Miami area was one 3.5* hotel with the above amenities for $100.)

I thought I would then try priceline on your advice. I did bid $50 and it was rejected and then it came back and said that is you want to bid $64 that I could re bid right there and then. I wasn't sure what the hotel was but was hoping for the Hyatt Regency and was surprised that it was accepted because all websites that I researched only had the Hyatt with available rooms for that night in downtown Miami. The cheapest rate I was able to find was $150 for a room there that weekend I don't know if I should of waited it out but I was glad to get the Regency and was pleasantly surprised. Thanks again for all your help.
