neiljc Posted January 6, 2012 Report Posted January 6, 2012 Hello everyone,I am trying to get a 3 1/2* hotel for 1 night Feb 29th at Orlando MCO airport. Can anyone suggest a bidding strategy to get it for under $60?Thanks in advance for any tips and responses.
thereuare Posted January 6, 2012 Report Posted January 6, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding! If you haven't yet, please read your messages. While i don't know if $60 will be enough for a 3.5* property in this area, you can try as follows:At the 3.5* level in Orlando you have SIX re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3.5* Airport...Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $48, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $53, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $58, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. neiljc Posted January 6, 2012 Author Report Posted January 6, 2012 Thanks,What zones can i use for re-bidding?
thereuare Posted January 6, 2012 Report Posted January 6, 2012 Re-bid zones can, and do, change at any time, so you need to know how to check these on your own since they should be double checked before every bidding cycle. Please see Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and confirm your re-bid zones with the board. neiljc Posted January 6, 2012 Author Report Posted January 6, 2012 Thanks for the help and information. I have read the thread and can see that there a few zones which dont have any 3 1/2* for dates selected, but a bit confused as when you search for a hotel it gives different zones/areas compared to when bidding i.e. casselberry-fern park is in bidding selection, but not when you do a regular search for a hotel -
AaronJB Posted January 6, 2012 Report Posted January 6, 2012 The zoning for the retail side of the service can be different in some instances than the bidding side of the service. Focus on the zones on the bidding side the service only. Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links, and please let us know if you have any questions.
thereuare Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 Try the following...1) Use the PRICELINE search box on the upper right of this page, enter "Orlando" and your dates, and click "GO".2) List each zone that is offered in this region. 3) Next to each zone list the highest star rating offered in the zone. The way to determine the highest star rating offered in the zone is by selecting the first zone i the list, then scrolling down to see the highest star rating selectable (ie- not greyed out). NEXT UNcheck the selected zone, place a checkmark in the next zone, and repeat the process for each zone in the region. Each time you take note of the highest star rating in the zone, make sure that only ONE zone is selected above.4) post your findings and we'll take it from therePlease use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. If you don't follow the above just post back and we'll break it down further.
