I want to stay on a 4* hotel in Grand Cayman from 15. of january to 20. of january.

I used the links above before I bid $100, added 3*+, bid $110, added 3* and bid $115. No dice yet. It doesnt seem like there are any 2*+, 3*, or 3*+ hotels in that area, however I am not sure.

Any tips?

Welcome to BetterBidding!

If PRICELINE offers hotels at a given star rating in a zone you should assume that they do indeed offer hotels of that star rating.

Using MAPS and HOTELS.com, or any other source, what is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable hotel for these dates?

4* and above, current cheapest listings per night:

Expedia: Marriot - $323 (listing The Reef (3,5*) for $163 - looks like a decent hotel)

Hotels.com: Westin - $349

Hotwire has a 4* for $237 (Resort, Beachfront Property, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby, Spa Services, Children's Activity Program)

Hotwire has a 3* for $186 (Resort, Suite, Near Beach, Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Golf nearby, Tennis nearby, Kitchenette)

Priceline comes up with only 2*, 4* and 5* hotels. Of the 4*s, Marriott is the cheapest at $339.

I am going to bid again today once the 24 hours have passed. Any suggestions for starting bid?

You don't have much time to play around with this one, based upon the rates you've quote above, what is your maximum bid at each star level? What is your gameplan if unsuccessful with PRICELINE?

135 at 4*

150 at 3+

160 at 3*

I think I'm just going to go for The Reef at the fixed rate.

Thanks for the inputs.
