Priceline Hotel: Vegas 02/16-19 & 02/17-19 (Two rooms at the same hotel)

Hello guys. New user here and I was wondering what my chances of landing the same hotel would be if I were to bid for Feb 16-19 for one room and Feb 17-19 for another. Also, assuming I were to get lucky and get the same hotel, can I ask the hotel to have the two rooms close to each other? My budget is somewhere around $100 (maybe a little more) per room. I would prefer something like Aria or the Venentian.

The other option to rent a two bedroom suite for the three days (one room will be empty for a day) but I don't suppose that's an option on priceline?

Thanks.

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

PRICELINE does have an "extend your stay" feature, but unfortunately if you were to book two rooms for 2/17-19 in one transaction for the same hotel and then try to extend, you'd have to extend for both rooms, so that would not work.

Your best bet to ensure 100% that both rooms would be at the same hotel for the time period when everyone was together would to be to book two rooms for 2/17-19, then try to book one additional night for one of the rooms separately. This MAY mean that one party would have to switch hotels for 2/17, but that everyone would definitely be together for 2/17-19.

Or you could try to book two separate transactions for 2/17-19 - hope that you wind up at the same property (there's the chance you may not) and then try to extend only one of the transactions. There is the chance that you may not be able to extend your stay using the "extend your stay" feature.

If you book one transaction for 2/17-19 and one for 2/16-19 there's an even greater chance of different inventory and different results with multiple transactions.

You could book a 2BR suite for the 2/16-19, as well; please use the site's Support/Travel section links if you do go that route, as you cannot guarantee a suite on PRICELINE and rarely have 2BR suites appeared in the Vegas area on HOTWIRE. Neither discount service offers upgraded rooms.

If you did get two rooms at the same property, you can definitely ask for the rooms to be near one another. There is no guarantee that the hotel can do this, but it is generally a fairly standard/basic request.

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Wow, thank you so much for the quick response, Aaron. A lot of good information there.

Does my price seem reasonable for what I'm looking for? And what does Priceline mean by "Strip Vicinity South". I'm assuming that also includes Strip South? It shows Paris on the map but I can't even see Bellagio and City Center.

Based upon current rates at the moment, I doubt that $100 will be enough for these weekend dates at a 5* hotel.

And what does Priceline mean by "Strip Vicinity South".

Enter "las vegas" and your dates in the search box on the top right of the board and you'll see the area that this zone includes... you're hotel can be anywhere within the shaded region of the zone. You can also use MAPS and HOTELS.com to see the location of various hotels and compare them to the PRICELINE zone.

Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there.

Thanks. I tried 100 (with south strip) and 105 (with north/south trip) and got rejected both time. I'll try again the next time it allows me to. And I've bookmarked this page so I'll make sure to click on your link. :)

Also, what is your maximum bid for this stay? Are you familiar with re-bidding and using your re-bid zones? (see Priceline Re-Bidding Explained, but if you're new to the concept it's highly recommended that you confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding)

I'm going with two rooms 2/17-2/19 and I'll be getting another room for the 16th and hope to land the same hotel. If it's not the same hotel, I guess it's still ok.

The one problem I'm running into is that I'm looking for something on the southern part of the strip so I may have to go down to four stars if my bids keeps getting rejected. I did include the north strip in my rebid but that didn't seem to help. I've so far gone up to 110 but I don't think I'm going to be able to go much higher so I may have to settle for a four star at some point.

I was able to get Trump for $100 in 01/09 (pl) and Wynn for $143 in 09/09 (hw) but I guess I must have gotten lucky with Trump back then. I'll discuss with the friends and figure out what to do next because I don't think people are going to want to cough up more than $110 per night on a room.

The Trump is not my favorite spot on the strip to be honest but I guess I am ok with it. I would much rather stay at Mandalay Bay than the Trump but I guess it's hard to be too selective with these cheap prices.

Given you're not a fan of the Trump, what is more important to you... your budget or avoiding this property?

You've already bid up to $105 for both the Strip North and Strip South zone, given your feelings about the Trump, would you prefer to bid higher for these zones before including the Strip North Condo as a possibility, or does price win out and you'd prefer the Trump is you could get it for $105 or less?

Also, from above it doesn't appear that you' used your re-bid zones, are you familiar with re-bidding? (see Priceline Re-Bidding Explained, but if you're new to the concept it's highly recommended that you confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding)

Can you guys please help me identify this hotel in the South part of the Las Vegas strip?

Feb 17-19

4*

Resort

Casino

Fitness Center

Pool(s)

Restaurant(s)

Business Center

Golf Nearby

Recommended by 85% of Hotwire Customers

Price $105/ Regularly $164 on those days

I'm especially curious to see if Golf Nearby narrows it down to one or two options.

Btw, I know the mods merged my request for a hotel identification into this thread but the reason I started a new trade for the hotel I'd was because that was on Hotwire. I'm assuming the fact that it's on Hotwire is not going to change people's guess?

We keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread so that it's easy to see what has already been considered and other options discussed. As well, when users have two threads for the same stay, they would typically only update the one in which they won, leaving the other thread with no follow-up/conclusion, leaving future readers of the thread wondering what was ultimately done for the stay, which makes the board less organized and useful for everyone.

As HOTWIRE shows prices and amenities associated with the hotel, whereas PRICELINE is a 'bidding' model, there's no confusion as to which service is being asked about in a given post. Lastly, we have set up the updated board so that when you clicked the "EDIT TO REPORT WIN" button (on the bottom right corner) and select Serviced Used: Priceline or Hotwire, it will automatically move the thread to the correct section of the board (if necessary).

Hope that explains the board format and reason for the merge a bit more clearly.
