chicity5 Posted January 3, 2012 Report Posted January 3, 2012 Hello!Visiting new york for the first time in February (10-12). Hotwire has few options available (one including a 4.5 in Soho for $154). I'm curious from past experience what the best rate would be....should I wait a few weeks to book? Will there be more options or prices that will drop? Or do I jump on something before it's gone?
AaronJB Posted January 3, 2012 Report Posted January 3, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)The issue with these dates is that it is Fashion Week:2012 Fall/Winter: February 9-16Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. While the second half of the Winter is traditionally one of the cheaper times of the year, rates will likely be kept up to some degree by Fashion Week. Additionally, a discussion of timing is available in the FAQ - bidding now for early Feb is not too far in advance. Please let us know if you would like assistance with specific listings (provide star rating, zone, amenities listed and price) and we would be happy to help.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

chicity5 Posted January 4, 2012 Author Report Posted January 4, 2012 Thanks for the quick and helpful response. I like the hotels listed for the New York priceline *4 star hotels in the SoHo/Tribeca area. I just tried entering in $120 and didn't have any luck. What amount would you start with? Thanks
AaronJB Posted January 4, 2012 Report Posted January 4, 2012 What would be your desired max budget per night? I don't think you're likely far off - my guess is that you're likely looking at $130-140.I'm seeing a 4* for $114 on HOTWIRE that would likely be the World Center, but that is a 3.5* on PRICELINE.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
chicity5 Posted January 5, 2012 Author Report Posted January 5, 2012 Thanks. Just booked and got the Sheraton in Tribeca for $140...Priceline now lists it as a 4 star. Thanks for your help!
AaronJB Posted January 5, 2012 Report Posted January 5, 2012 Congrats on your success. :)Definitely a nice result for this property!
