ruch182 Posted January 3, 2012 Report Posted January 3, 2012 Hi there - I'm new to this forum and generally new to priceline. I'm heading to SF with my girlfriend and we're looking to stay from Feb 15th - 19th 2012, ideally in a 4* hotel given the savings I've seen on this forum, in USE (maybe USW - basically somewhere central and not too close to the tenderloin)I really like the look of Parc 55, what should my ideal strategy be to land this hotel, or a similar 4* in the area? I've noticed that parc 55 has gone for as low as $80-90 in some cases. Thanks for the help, and I'll be sure to use the PRICELINE link you have!Edit: My max budget would probably be about $120 for this, but obviously looking for much cheaper if possible
thereuare Posted January 3, 2012 Report Posted January 3, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding!Rates are big higher than usual for these dates so i'm doubtful that you'll find anything sub-$100, but you have a chance near the upper end of your range. I'd try as follows:When bidding 4* in the San Francisco area you have SEVEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* USE and USE (assuming both are acceptable)...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120Any questions feel free to ask.(especially regarding re-bidding if you're new to the concept and/or bidding)Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.Good luck and let us know how it goes. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
ruch182 Posted January 11, 2012 Author Report Posted January 11, 2012 No luck with this after several tries - I've gone up to around $145 (
