I was wondering, though, if there is no availability for Doubletree on their website or any other hotel booking site for these dates, does that mean Hotwire wouldn't have availability for it either? Thanks!
thereuare Posted December 31, 2011 Report Posted December 31, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please conduct your searches and post to the board in US Dollars. You can change the default currency that HOTWIRE displays by using the drop down box on the top right of the HOTWIRE home page. Once you're ready to make a purchase simply change the currency to Canadian (or whatever currency you want to purchase in) and complete your purchase as usual. The HOTWIRE hotel above matches reports for the Scottsdale Resort and Conference so that would be my best guess for this one.We have seen hotels received where the hotel's own website was showing no availability, but this is much more the exception than the rule, and if a hotel's own website shows a sold-out condition then the chances of receiving that particular hotel are greatly reduced (but not eliminated). Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
adyani Posted December 31, 2011 Author Report Posted December 31, 2011 Thank you! I've heard Scottsdale resort & hotel has a resort fee. Is it included in the fees section or is it just a surprise when you get to the hotel?Cheers.
thereuare Posted December 31, 2011 Report Posted December 31, 2011 The resort fee would be in addition to your HOTWIRE rate and payable directly to the hotel. If you go back to HOTWIRE and run your search again, find this listing and click the SHOW ME button (with the price in it) OR the 'See details' link. At the bottom of the ensuing page, in the "Know Before You Go" section you'll see the following:This hotel typically charges all guests a resort fee regardless of how the room is booked. The hotel collects this fee of about US$ 20 per room per night directly from you, so it won't show in your Hotwire Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
PriceLuck Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 I was just at Scottsdale Resort and Convention Center December 30, 2011 at a rate of $66 for the night and they do charge an extra $19 resort fee. Having stayed there before on a couple of occasions and knowing this that is why I bid low and have been accepted in the $50s and $60s before. Good luck.
