Priceline Hotel: 4* Atlanta (Midtown) Renaissance Atlanta Midtown

Around the 23rd of November I was planning ahead and bid/won a 4* in Midtown @ $135.00 for New Years Eve 12/31 - it was the Loews and I was excited because I have never stayed in the Loews and was happy with the rate.

My babysitter for New Years fell through - I was bummed because I didn't think there was anything I could do about my reservation. I called Priceline and told them that I chose the wrong dates by mistake and they agreed to cancel the reservation and offer a refund (less $25.00 fee) if i rebooked for correct date. I was able to secure a babysitter for 12/30. Priceline canceled my reservation and I bid $100.00 for a 4* in Midtown on 12/30. I got the room at $100.00 but it is the Renaissance not the Loews. I'm a bit bummed because I've stayed in the Renaissance before (when it was Palomar) and I wanted to check out the Loews or W. I will be interested to see if/how the hotel has changed under new ownership.

For anybody visiting Atlanta - I strongly recommend Midtown or Buckhead vs. Downtown. Midtown feels/looks much safer, there are many trendy restaurants & shops and you're close enough to downtown to easily visit the downtown attractions.
