Hi!

We're going to NYC 5/10-5/13, and would like to stay in a 4*Hotel in central Manhattan. We are 3 adult persons who would like to stay in one room. Using Priceline, we can only select number of rooms, not persons. Is it normally a problem i NYC to get an extra bed in the room, or is that a gamble?

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Using PRICELINE for more than double occupancy is a risk, one which is substantially greater in NYC than in other parts of the country since rooms are notoriously small and at most hotels there are a large percentage of rooms with only one bed (many of which don't have room for a rollaway). As well, many NYC hotels consider rooms with two beds to be an upgrade, if you landed such a hotel you would need to negotiate with them for a room with two beds (if they are even willing/able to provide an upgrade at an additional cost).

If you're not willing to accept this risk, HOTWIRE can still be an option as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy and ensure accommodations for everyone in you include in your search (although the second 'bed' could be a pullout sofabed, rollaway brought into the room, etc)

Let us know how you'd like to proceed, and your expected budget, and we'll take it from there.
