jr34 Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 Hey guys,Thanks for taking the time to reply to all of these threads. I don't think I've seen another forum run as well as this one. It's been about 3 years since my wife and I have been to Vegas and I would like to book a 5* property in the Strip North area (Wynn, Venetian, Palazzo, etc.) or Strip South area (Aria) for Sat. 1/28/12 - Wed. 2/1/12. What's a realistic bidding range for these dates?Current Strip North rates-------------------------Encore - $179/nightPalazzo - $289/nightVenetian - $209/nightWynn - $175/nightCurrent Strip South rates-------------------------Aria - $184/nightVdara - $144/nightI would prefer to stay at a resort that offers a casino, so I'm concerned I would land Vdara by bidding in the Strip South zone.I booked our backup at Planet Hollywood for $291 (all in).Thank you so much for your time and advice.
thereuare Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding! (and thanks for the compliments on the site)I'm guessing that you're looking at ~$140-$165 for something in the Strip North zone. As far as the Strip South zone is concerned, i wouldn't be too concerned about the casino aspect since the Aria and Vdara are right next door to each other, but you know your needs better than we do so ultimately it's a decision you'll need to make based upon your needs. Also, this could be a more difficult win given your arrival is on a Saturday nite, if you're flexible, you may want to consider SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID. Given the low rate at your back-up property, what is your maximum bid for this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
