Hi, This is my first time trying Hotwire. I've used Priceline in the past but I'm a little nervous waiting much longer trying to get an entire week in DC.

This is what I found when clicking the HOTWIRE link from this site.

4* $247 per night. 3/18 - 3/24 90% reviews

Amenities:

Fitness Center

Business Center

High-Speed

Internet Access

Golf Nearby

Tennis Nearby

Any idea what hotel this is? Washington Court Hotel?

And should I wait to see if a better deal comes along?

Thank you for the great service that you provide..

Welcome to BetterBidding!

This does match previous reports for the Washington Court Hotel so that would be my best guess for this one.

As far as waiting and hoping for a better deal, there is no way to know if rates will come down between now and your stay... or move even higher. Do you necessarily need a 4* hotel for this stay (there is a 3.5* in this same zone offered for $197/nite... $50/nite savings over 7 nites can add up quickly). What about other nearby zones... there is a 4* in the Dupont Circle zone for $175/nite.

$247/nite is certainly not cheap for a hotel room, but DC is a market where rates can be very low when nothing much is happening in town, and rates can spike very high when there is a major event in town (government meetings, congress in session, large political rallies, etc). Part of your decision to book now or wait should be based upon how much you need a 4* and in this particular zone... vs. if you're flexible and can deal with a lower rated hotel, a nearby zone, or even SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID if necessary.

Let us know your thoughts and/or how it goes and we'll take it from there.

Thank You very much, thereuare for your quick and detailed post.

At this point we're really not dead set on any one zone or level of accommodation. That being said, this is probably a once in a lifetime trip (we're from the Seattle area) so we expect to splurge a little.

The warden (wife) thought staying in the Capitol Hill area would be convenient since we have a Capitol Hill tour scheduled through our Senator's office.

We've never been to DC so we're still trying to get over the intimidation of getting around town and just trying to get a feel for the scale of where everything is..

Let me talk to the wife and see what she thinks about the Dupont Circle area. My guess is that she'll want to be as close to the main attractions as possible though.

Thanks again for your perspective and I will definitely use the link from this site when I book.

Dupont Circle is generally considered to be a very nice neighborhood, with local cafes/restaurants, and easily accessible to the 'main attractions' via the Metro. However, ultimately it's up to you (and your wife) to decide what is more important to you for this stay.
