mathchris Posted December 24, 2011 Author Report Posted December 24, 2011 THANKS!Any ideas what the hotels above might be? Thanks!
AaronJB Posted December 24, 2011 Report Posted December 24, 2011 I would not read a great deal into the HOTWIRE customer % ratings; given that there's no list to compare against, they are not a reliable indicator (and have seen to change from search-to-search.) I'm seeing a different 4* West for 29-30; the 4* West for 30-31 has common amenities, but that amenity set has been seen with the Sheraton. HOTWIRE listings do not show all amenities the hotel offers in an attempt to keep the listing opaque. The East 4* would be a possible match for the Le Royal Meridien or Westin Harbour Castle.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
mathchris Posted December 26, 2011 Author Report Posted December 26, 2011 Decided to go with PRICELINE instead! Booked a Hotel, Downtown Toronto South, for $68 per night, Dec 30 to Dec 31 2011. Sheraton Centre! An Excellent Deal for this property. On a side note, I dont know if you will know the answers, or other people have had this issue, but I called the hotel, like normal to upgrade (which I have done many times in the past for a fee of course). They said that I know have to call priceline and deal with them for an upgrade? Is this the new way of doing things? Can priceline upgrade me to a suite? Thanks so much! I always use your links!
thereuare Posted December 26, 2011 Report Posted December 26, 2011 Congratulations on your success! Looks like a very nice deal, glad to see you're pleased with the results.Unless something has changed, my guess is that the clerk you spoke to on the wasn't paying close enough to your question (and thought it was the typical 'i need two beds' or 'i must have a non-smoking room') and referred you back to PRICELINE to let them explain the rules to you. I would try back 12 hours after your previous phone call (when the previous clerk will likely not be working) and re-try... if you're given the same answer i would make it clear that you're looking to pay for an upgrade and that in the past you have always dealt directly with the hotel. If still the same 'brush-off' i would call back another time and ask to speak to the hotel manager or the revenue manager.Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding. Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
