budget traveler Posted December 22, 2011 Report Posted December 22, 2011 Pricing from this previous priceline win is still in play.Tried to low ball it on my first attempt with a $40 offer. It was denied. I was prompted to bump my offer up by $12 for an immediate re-submission. I did just that and got accepted with a $52 dollar bid. Summary of Charges for Thursday, December 22, 2011 Room Cost $52.00 Number of Rooms: 1Number of Guests Per Room: 2Number of Nights: 1Room Subtotal: $52.00 Taxes and Fees: $14.87 Total Room Cost: $66.87 I've actually been here for a couple of days at the Crowne Plaza, butI paid more needlessly :) It is an older property just removed from the downtown area. Not walking distance to anywhere you want to go probably. The shuttle will take you downtown for $5 roundtrip, you might spend that much in parking if you plan to be downtown for half the day. The accomodations are adequate. Mini-fridge. No microwave. No complaints really, I just seen some spiffier 3.5* hotels. Quaint, peaceful. The place is tucked away around a curve road. It is easy to miss on first pass. It is a bit of a sharp turn into the entrance. Go slow and look for the Crown Plaza marquee. You've got to navigate a little u-turn to get to downtown (our main destination)from the property. The traffic is messy sometimesFree wifi is a bonus. Nice little restaurant on property. Our portions were generous and priced fairly. There is a nice little Whole Foods type grocery store around the corner-"Earth Fare", if you are in to that sort of thing. We went everyday.Safe and happy travels.
