Xerothermic Posted December 22, 2011 Report Posted December 22, 2011 Hi,My gf and I are planning to stay in Vegas for Xmas this year. We plan to watch a show and eat a lot of buffets and just walk on the main strip. We will stay from 12/23-12/26 and we allocate $150 for the hotel room. Can someone please suggest a on where we should pick our hotel so we don't need to walk too far to get to these destinations? Thanks!Xerothermic P.S. we'll be driving a car, so we prefer a hotel that will not charge additional fees for the parking. Or, if people can suggest a cheap yet safe place to park, please share with us too.
thereuare Posted December 22, 2011 Report Posted December 22, 2011 To confirm... are you looking at a budget of $150/nite for for the 3 nites total? What is your desired star rating? If not 5*, are you willing to pay more for a higher rated hotel OR is your goal the least expensive hotel at the minimum star rating you select?Let us know the above and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Xerothermic Posted December 22, 2011 Author Report Posted December 22, 2011 Thank you for replying!Sorry for the confusion, we'd like to spend around $150 total for 3nites, so we can spend the rest of money in other facilities. We aren't sure what's the best rating we can get in this price range. However, I just stumble the flamingo @ priceline is sale for $43/nite, so I expect similar level. If there are some clean and nice hotel just off the main strip that provide free to the main strip, we can consider them as well. Also, will bidding at priceline at this time give me better chance to bid better hotel? One more thing, from my past experience, even if I get a hotel room, if I didn't pay attention to the parking price, it can add up to one-third of hotel expense...so please suggest a parking strategy too. Thanks a lot!

Xerothermic Posted December 22, 2011 Author Report Posted December 22, 2011 2xDone! Thanks for reminding.
thereuare Posted December 22, 2011 Report Posted December 22, 2011 Your budget doesn't go too far for something centrally located on the strip... the Flamingo for $50/nite may be your best best, but you may also want to consider Harrahs at $60/nite (and code USJMC10 may take an extra 10% off)The problem with most other non-Harrahs properties is that they come with Resort fees which will add another $20 per nite onto your cost, which is 40% of your budget. Xerothermic Posted December 23, 2011 Author Report Posted December 23, 2011 Thanks for the suggestions. I'll compare the resort fees.
