thereuare Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 Few comments/questions...Given that you have already bid up to $180 for a 4* in ESB, MTE and Chelsea, but apparently only Chelsea for a 3.5*, did you next want to try all three zones up to $200 OR try these same zones for a 3.5* up to $180. Note that at the 3.5* level in the MTE zone some hotels can be up to a 15 minute walk to the subway, so this would need to be acceptable if you decide to bid MTE at the 3.5* level. Also, there is a 4* hotel on HOTWIRE in the Chelsea zone for $187/nite with: Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Internet, Business (possibly the Wyndham Garden Hotel at Broadway and Fifth upgraded from the last time it was reported at the 3* level... this property does get good reviews so it is possible (although i'm not sure how likely))This property has not yet been reported to the board and i'm not sure which one it may be, and as PRICELINE and HOTWIRE each use their own star ratings, it may be less than 4* rated on PRICELINE. However, given you've already been rejected at the 3.5* level at $180, this may be a good option, even if it ultimately proves not to be up to PRICELINE's standards for a 4* hotel.Based upon the above let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Thanks. DaeMa Posted December 22, 2011 Author Report Posted December 22, 2011 Thank you for your reply!Today I bid for 4* ESB, MTE, Chelsea up to 200$ and for 3,5* Chelsea up to 190$ - all without success.3,5* Hotels in ESB and MTE are not my favorite ones.I would prefer the 4* Hilton Fashion District and 3,5* Hotel Indigo both in Chelsea Area.Any suggestions on how to win these hotels? Thank you in advanceMartinP.S: Is it a problem that i bid on 2 rooms?
AaronJB Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 There is no way to bid for/increase the odds of a particular property. If you bid for a particular star rating in a particular zone, you have to be willing to accept any hotel within the selected zone/s at that star rating (or possibly be upgraded if there is a higher star rating.) Bidding on two rooms should not be an issue.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
