Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

No downtown hotels have a shuttle from the airports; the distance is too great. Parking is costly at downtown properties, and it's generally recommended to consider the city lots for less expensive parking. This would be a possible match for the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza or Four Points Mag Mile.

AaronJB can comment better, but what exactly are your plans for this trip? If you're arriving by plane do you need a rental car (and parking) for this trip? If most of your time will be spend 'downtown' what is the purpose of trying to stay near Midway?

What is your budget for this trip?

I would definitely find downtown considerably preferable over staying out by Midway and rates downtown for these dates (as downtown goes) are not high.

Additionally, if you are planning to be downtown only, then there is absolutely no need for a car - the orange line "L" train runs from Midway to downtown. Having a car downtown is only a hassle - traffic, parking cost, etc. Downtown itself is walkable and there's no need to drive from place-to-place.

If you plan on visiting other areas than downtown, then maybe a car is worthwhile, but it really depends - there is public transit out to the 'burbs, but some areas are not terribly walkable from where the trains go.

If you plan on spending a lot of time in outlying areas, then it may be worth considering staying in outlying areas and taking the train in.

It really depends on what your plans are, but again, if being downtown is the primary focus, I would definitely not get a rental car - taking the train in from Midway is easy (and cheaper and less of a hassle.)
