Rebecca2276 Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 I had difficulty securing a winning bid for a Galleria hotel, probably because it's New Year's weekend. I started out bidding $40 for 4* hotels and went up in $2 increments until I hit $60. I added other areas to my search such as Atosocita and Humble that did not have 4* hotels in their area. I performed this search over a 4 day period and did not get any hotels. Finally, I reduced my star to 3.5* and started my bidding at $50 with $1 increases. I was able to win the Mariott West Loop at $59. After the first bid Priceline told me to bid at $68 to win a hotel. I ignored this.I was really hoping to win the Intercontinental or Hotel Derek, but I just didn't have any luck bidding on 4* and I wasn't willing to increase my bid above $60 per night. I also used the PRICELINE link on this site.
