beckett15 Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 found out after I booked that the room has just one queen bed. Traveling w my 6'3" college age son. They said they'd upgrade me to a suite for $50 more. Seems a little odd that the default room doesn't have a 2 bed option.
thereuare Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding!Congratulations on your success and thank you for sharing your results with the board. This is not odd at all, especially in an area such as NYC where rooms are notoriously small and the majority of rooms at most hotels only have one bed in them. All that PRICELINE guarantees is a room which will accommodate double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel. This also gives the hotel flexibility in the type of room ultimately assigned, which helps them manage their room inventory better, which in turn helps them offer the deep discounts that they do.You're also near my often recommended Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) which has one of the best bagels in the city, makes for a nice, and relatively inexpensive, breakfast among local NYers. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay.
