Priceline Hotel: 3.5* Fort Lauderdale (West Ft. Lauderdale - Plantation) Sheraton Suites Plantation

Hello,

I am a first time bidder on priceline and would like some help bidding on 2 rooms for Jan 27-30 2012. I want a 3* room or higher. Ideally i would like to stay at the doubletree in sawgrass mills, as i have seen other posters get great deals on that particular hotel. if that hotel is unavailable my ideal areas are Downtown, Beach area, Hollywood, and Airport FLL. I wou;d like to stay under $75 per night per room if possible. And i will begin my search using the links thru this site.

I have also been trying to get the Double Tree in Sawgrass Mills (only 3.5* in Sawgrass with PRICELINE) with no success. I have starting bidding at $50/night and now up to $60/night for Jan.8 and 9 so far, was hoping that $60 would do it. I will retry in the upcoming days, hopefully the price comes down.

The Doubletree is located in PRICELINE's "West Ft. Lauderdale - Sawgrass" zone, but you can't bid on this specific hotel, you need to be willing to accept any hotel in this zone at the star rating (or higher) that you choose, which means you could be upgraded to a higher rated hotel in the zone (such as the 4* Hyatt Bonaventure, to name just one possibility)

Let us know if you still want to begin by bidding only this zone and we'll take it from there.

As per my comments above, keep in mind that the star rating you choose is the minimum you're willing to accept, and your 3.5* bid could always be upgraded to a higher rated hotel. If you'd like help with your own stay feel free to start a NEW TOPIC.

I do understand that, i would like to bid the sawgrass area first, and then include areas listed in my initial post

Did you want to first bid for a 3.5* hotel in the (West Fort Lauderdale - Sawgrass) zone up to $75, then if that is rejected start over and bid for the least expensive 3* or better in either the Downtown, Beach, Hollywood, or Airport FLL zone(s). Is this correct?

Started off bidding in the sawgrass area at $60

Added Coral Springs at $65

Added Plantation at $70 and bid was accepted

I am happy with this deal :)

ended up with the sheraton suites plantation for $70 per night for the 28-30

I still need 2 rooms for the 27 but am satisfied with the purchase...

and i have already made a separate thread posting my hotel win...
