Priceline Hotel: Bidding strategy for Fisherman's Wharf / Downtown SF.

Hi,

I'm hoping for a 3.5* hotel in the Fisherman wharf area of SF however I would be happy with a 4* in the downtown zone. My dates are 02/13/12 - 02/16/12. I would like to keep the total cost of the 3 nights under $220. Is that reasonable?

Do you think I'm bidding to early to get the best price? I thought i would bid today because i have the $5 bonus money until midnight tonight.

Any advice or tips you have concerning rebid zones or strategy would be great.

Thanks

Assuming you mean $70/nite, based upon current rates, i'm doubtful that this will be enough... this stay takes place over Valentine's Nite which is a very busy nite for hotels. What is the best rate you're able to find at a hotel thru conventional booking channels?

If you want to give it a try anyway, did you want to try for a 3.5* in the Fisherman's Wharf zone first up to your limit, then if/when rejected try for a 4* in the Downtown zone(s)? What is your maximum bid price per nite? Also, as there is no 'Downtown' zone in San Francisco, to avoid any confusion, please indicate which zones, by PRICELINE name, you're willing to accept.
