janievee Posted December 12, 2011 Report Posted December 12, 2011 I'm having some trouble bidding for a 4* room for Montreal between Feb 3 - 7, 2012. I'm up to $75 with no counter bid and I guess I was thinking for the middle of winter it shouldn't be much more than that. Does anybody know if there is anything going on that I should know about or should I just keep trying? I know I have some time, so I'm not too worried. Thanks!
Romelle Posted December 12, 2011 Report Posted December 12, 2011 I checked the daily rates in Hotwire - $104,110,105,112 and also for all 4 days $109. I can't speak for events there, but there doesn't appear to be a particular problem day or days. Priceline usually tends to be a little less than Hotwire, so you probably are getting close. I've had bids accepted with no prior counter-offers. You've got quite a bit of time left. You might consider making some cancelable back-up reservation, and then just trying again every few days. You may have to go somewhat higher too, or try a slightly lower star level or additional zones.Romelle
