Priceline Hotel: 3* Charleston (Downtown) Francis Marion

After failed bids for a 4* hotel in downtown Charleston (rejected even at $138), I won a bid for $91/night at the Francis Marion hotel in the historic district/downtown of Charleston.

My bids were: $70, 76, 81, 91.

I'm taking the scathing reviews with a grain of salt. Lots of cranky tourists, it seems.

Hopefully you don't appear to be a 'cranky tourist' after your own stay :) Please let us know your thoughts by posting our HOTEL REVIEW forum upon your return.

Also, since you're new to the board, i'll also mention our sister site: RealHotelPhotos.com where users can post their photos of the properties they stay at... gives a bit more credence to "our room was filthy" or "the furniture was tacky"... let's users see what the real hotel room looks like (not from their website) and can make a decision themselves if the 'tacky' furniture would bother them or not.

Brilliant idea on the hotel photos site. Now all it needs is mass participation. On some rainy day, I'll trying uploading some pictures I've taken over the years from hotels I've stayed at.
