translation Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 Started bidding for 2/3-2/5 Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage-Indian Wells-Palm Desert area, $80 and was rejected. Expanded area to add Indio, bidded $83, and was rejected. Moved dates to 2/2-2/4, increased bid to $88, and won La Quinta Resort. However, the inexperienced bidder/traveler that I am, I didn't realize that the location was inconvenient to my trip (to Joshua Tree NP) and the distance btw. Palm Springs and La Quinta. I was lucky enough to s/w customer service @ PL and was offered a one-time exchange, if I re-bid for the same dates in Palm Springs proper (or reserved a published hotel for these nites). I was charged a one-night fee ($88 + tax= $105), and was told it would be refunded, minus a $25 exchange fee, once I booked another hotel through Priceline. I was surprised but pleased!! I am currently trying to bid on a 4-star hotel in Palm Springs, but having less success..(see my other post). Just thought I would share my story.
