umop 3pisdn Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 I was looking for a hotel in downtown detroit to stay with my girlfriend who's visiting from out of the country. I spent almost a week doing this, as there's only one region (Southgate/Lincoln Park) that has nothing higher than a 2-star allowing for rebids on 3.5/4-star hotels. I was hoping for the Fort Shelby Doubletree, which I have had great experience with - perhaps I should have purchased it straight from the site, as they are running a $104 ($119 after tax) special for December... the $85 bid was $104 after taxes. It must be the season - I've been able to get 3.5 star hotels in detroit for <$80 this year! Or, perhaps Detroit's making it's comeback :)(BTW, admin, go blue! Ann Arbor native here!)
