thereuare Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding!Unfortunately a property in this zone with this amenity set has not yet been reported to the board, and as you might imagine, these amenities are common at most 4* hotels in the city so i don't think we'll have able to offer too much insight into this one. These should be relatively inexpensive nites in NYC, what is your objective/needs and maximum budget for this trip? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. chanwhk Posted December 5, 2011 Author Report Posted December 5, 2011 Damn... What a gamble..I want to be close to my friend staying at Park Central Hotel 870 Seventh Avenue At 56Th Street New York, NYIf I search on Hotwire for 1 room for 2, do I get 1 bed or 2 beds. Is it likely that I'll have to pay extra if I call the hotel for two beds after booking? I'm booking 2 rooms for 5 people.
thereuare Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel, and you could receive a room with only one bed. While you can call the hotel you win and request a room with two beds, the hotel may not be able, or willing, to honor your request. This is considered especially risky in NYC as a high percentage of rooms only have one bed and at many hotels a room with two beds is considered an upgrade. If this is not a risk you're willing to accept, HOTWIRE may still be an option as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy (in your instance you would search for 2rooms/5adults) and ensure sleeping accommodations for everyone you include in your search (although this usually means two beds, the second 'bed' could be a sofabed, rollaway, etc)What is your maximum budget (per room per nite before fees/taxes) for this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. chanwhk Posted December 5, 2011 Author Report Posted December 5, 2011 Thanks for the info and quick replyMaximum is about $150 per night
thereuare Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 As you need two beds in at least one of the rooms, are you willing to take the risk and use PRICELINE for this stay, since you could receive a rooms with only one bed in each... or do you want the safer route of HOTWIRE?Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
