nuxsmaniac Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 Hi, looking for bidding strategy for my annual trip to seattle with parents.2 nites. possibly different hotel- one in belluvue (hilton 3.5 stars) and one in renton or federal way area. Nothing planned just walking around for some shopping, tjmax and frys and ross. Any suggestion? could even stay 2 nite at belluvue if the price is right. How much is a reasonable starting price for belluvue on dec 19 or dec 20? and also in federal way area. thanks. 2 rooms required.
thereuare Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 So we don't suggest a strategy that goes higher than you're willing to pay, what is your maximum bid for this stay?Is your first move going to be bidding for both nites in Bellevue? What is the 'right price' to bid both nites at this location? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. nuxsmaniac Posted December 6, 2011 Author Report Posted December 6, 2011 Since I am booking for 2 room for 2 nites I would like to pay $70 or less all in with tax for each room/nite but with a 3 stars minimal star level in bellevue. For federal way if we get Clarion we don't mind staying for 2 stars but worry ended up getting days inn....thanks.

nuxsmaniac Posted December 7, 2011 Author Report Posted December 7, 2011 $60-65 per nite. please. Clicked the links already. Thanks.
thereuare Posted December 7, 2011 Report Posted December 7, 2011 When bidding 3* in the Bellevue area you have ONE re-bid zone. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.I'd bid as follows:Select 3* Bellevue...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $55If the above is rejected wait 24 hours and re-try, $60/$65.Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. nuxsmaniac Posted December 8, 2011 Author Report Posted December 8, 2011 Hi...I tried to look thru the free rebid zone but as my connect speed is slow I cant seem TI have much success; do you mind letting me know which zone is the free rebid for Seattle area? Thanks
thereuare Posted December 8, 2011 Report Posted December 8, 2011 When you first get to the PRICELINE 'select a zone' page (if you use the search box on the top right it will be the first page that loads), select only Kirkland and if 2.5* is still the highest star rating offered in that zone, then that is your re-bid zone. Then UNCHECK Kirkland (so that it's not included in your first bid) and proceed with the strategy above. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. nuxsmaniac Posted December 9, 2011 Author Report Posted December 9, 2011 thank you. Used your link and got Red Lion Bellvue for $48 per nite the first trial $Dec 19/20 ....contemplating if I should extend stay for Dec 20-21 or try Hyatt with 3 and 1/2 star or go some where else for different shopping experience....thanks again for your help!
thereuare Posted December 9, 2011 Report Posted December 9, 2011 Whether you want to change hotels will be more of a personal choice based upon your plans for this trip and how much of an inconvenience it will be to change properties. This hotel is close to Rte 405 which provide easy access to the Factoria Mall, but unfortunately won't be walkable to Bellevue Square Mall which another property in the zone might be.I'll also add that John Howie Steak (in the Shops at Bravern) has an excellent burger (and house draft) at very good prices during Happy Hour, and the Shops at Bravern will provide some high end shopping if that is what you're seeking. If you extend this stay please post a reply here... if you need help with the remaining nite, or purchase a different property, please start a NEW TOPIC.Thanks.
