hardcor Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 This is totally last minute! I want to bid on a 4 star preferrably in MTW, MTE, CPS, TS, etc. Would settle for 3 1/2 star. Any idea of what I should bid and strategy for bidding?! PLEASE HELP!
AaronJB Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)What would be your desired budget per night for this stay?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
hardcor Posted December 5, 2011 Author Report Posted December 5, 2011 Well I would prefer under $230; I have tried 4star in MTW, then added each time MTE, TS, CPS, Chelsea, ESB, then dropped to 3.5 star and bid up tp $230 to no avail. Nor sure what to do?!ALso a couple days ago Newbie had posted:Omni Berkshire Place4 star Midtown East21 East 52Nd Street Madison Avenue , New York, NY 10022 2 night stay: $460 + $104.14 in taxes and fees = $564.14.
thereuare Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? What about a very small room? (such as the Hudson Hotel??)What is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable hotel thru conventional booking channels? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. hardcor Posted December 5, 2011 Author Report Posted December 5, 2011 I tried that for the first two nights at $230...still nothing. I had found through conventional booking the Washington Jefferson (3.5 stars I think) for 6 night average of $261 at about 4pm, then $285 at 7pm; now all gone. 12/8/11 and 12/10/11 seem to be the expensive nights. I know that prices drop to like $150 on 12/11/11.
thereuare Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 If you haven't, please start by reading your messages. Are you willing to stay outside of the city for all/part of your stay? For instance stay in Hoboken/Jersey City which provides easy access to NYC via PATH train (about a 15 minute ride) where for 12/6-12/9 you could likely get a 4* hotel for ~$165 or so; then try for a hotel in Manhattan for the balance of your stay of 12/9-12/12 (which will still take all/most of your budget)Let us know your thoughts on the above and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
