MilliePap Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 Tried to bid in PL for something in Cape Cod but failed, probably because I didn't thoroughly check to see what was offered. I used the method of looking for quality levels in other locations that were not available in my preferred area, however, I think my rejections were due to under-bidding. I'll try again when PL allows me, in the meantime, here's some info that may be helpful as to what is available:Eastham offers 3* and 2*Brewster offers Resort and 4*Yarmouth/Hyannis offers 3*, 2.5*, 2* and 1*Entered Provincetown---Asks you to enter another city (hard to believe that!)Entered Truro---Offers EasthamEntered Orleans---Offers Eastham & BrewsterEntered Harwich---Officers Eastham & BrewsterEntered Barnstable---Asks you to enter another cityEntered Sandwich---Offers Hyannis/YarmouthI'll let you know the results when I try again, unless I find something elsewhere.I'd appreciate any tips if anyone has any ideasThanks!
thereuare Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 What prices did you bid that were rejected? Are any of the above zones fine with you? What star level are you looking for? This information would help in giving suggestions as to how to proceed with a systematic bidding strategy. MilliePap Posted July 15, 2003 Author Report Posted July 15, 2003 Can't remember my exact route in choices but I was rejected at $90 for a 2* in Brewster and rejected at $61 for a 1* in Hyannis. Unless I hear otherwise, I'm a little nervous about anything under a 2.5*. Location is not a priority because hopefully the few days there will be spent exploring Cape Cod, although, something within walking distance to the beach/water on either coast would be real nice. Thanks!
thereuare Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 I'm searching but rates are really out of hand!Guess that's to be expected at peak season.Best i'm finding is 'lodge' type properties (travellodge, motel 8, etc) in the $80's, and even those seem to be somewhat outside of the main area. MilliePap Posted July 15, 2003 Author Report Posted July 15, 2003 I've read several good reviews on Best Value Inn in Hyannis---$79 Sun-Thurs---not on the waterfront but since that's not an absolute for me, I may consider it...............going to do more research before I try PL again.......I'll let you know. Thanks
