Maspear1 Posted December 2, 2011 Report Posted December 2, 2011 Omni Berkshire Place4 star Midtown East21 East 52Nd Street Madison Avenue , New York, NY 10022 2 night stay: $460 + $104.14 in taxes and fees = $564.14. Priceline says I saved 30% This is kind of a spontaneous trip, and me and my girl are in our early 20s, so there wasn't much stress about doing this last minute even though we already book plane tickets from JAX. Been trying for a couple of days for only TS, MTW, and MTE 4* or 5* with flexible dates starting on 12/10/11 and using 5 rebid zones with no 4* or 5* hotels. Not bidding over $250. First bid today 12/2/11 was $220 for MTW then rebid $230 adding in MTE and WON!!! Published rate today is $407/avg. marked down from $479/avg plus $127 in taxes and fees = $941.40This will be a 4 day trip, so I'm now working on booking a hotel in Times Square for 12/12 - 12/14. I want to pay significantly less than the first 2 days since this half of the stay is midweek.Rebid zones: 1st: MSG Convention Center 2nd: Queens Bridge 3rd: UES 4th: Coney Island 5th: Long Island CityP.S. I almost always use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE quick links at the top of the page.
thereuare Posted December 2, 2011 Report Posted December 2, 2011 Congratulations on your success! Glad to see you were successful and are pleased with the results. You're also near my often recommended Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) which has one of the best bagels in the city, makes for a nice, and relatively inexpensive, breakfast among local NYers. Also, if you like things that are SPICY and hot try the ... but you only want the crew that is there after 7:30pm (they're open until about 4am). Ask for two white sauce and one red sauce on the side for each platter. (and be sure to taste the hot sauce before dumping it all on your plate)Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding. Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
