bakerastic Posted December 1, 2011 Report Posted December 1, 2011 I bid $40 on Tuesday 11/29/11 for a 3 star hotel in only the Convention Center zone, hoping for the Doubletree Hotel but willing to go elsewhere for a good deal. That bid was declined but I got an immediate counteroffer of $51 per night. I didn't take the counteroffer, knowing the previous Portland poster had gotten a $40 price for a different date, and hoping a little patience would pay off for me as well. So I waited my 24 hours to rebid at the $40 rate, again for a 3 star hotel only in the Convention Center zone. This time, it was accepted. The total is as follows:Room Subtotal: $40.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $12.46 (USD) Total Room Cost: $52.46 (USD) This is about $30 less than the cheapest non-refundable rate otherwise offered online (and still about $23 less after the Priceline fees), so I'm very happy!
