We are looking for someplace relatively 'cheap' to stay for Ultra Music Festival. Havent had much luck because lots of stuff is already sold out. Open to any suggestions :)

What is your maximum budget for this stay? Is the event Downtown and that is where you need to be?

We are trying to keep it around $200 a night. The event is at Bayfront park, so the closer we are to that the better. There will be upwards of 150,000 people there, so using cabs to get around might be hard. hahaha...

If the area is expecting 150K poeple and many hotels are already sold-out, there is little reason for hotels to offer deep discounts thru the opaque suppliers.

The address of Bayfront Park is 301 North Biscayne Boulevard Miami, Florida. Entering this into MAPS and HOTELS.com there really isn't too much within your budget in the immediate area. This Springhill Suites is about 2.5 miles away at priced at $199... after that you're looking at les quality hotels starting at $250+.

You could of course choose to wait it out, but the risk is that with so many people expected in the area, hotel supply could get even worse (and prices even higher). If you do choose to wait i'd recommend booking a fully refundable back-up to protect yourself from rates moving higher and/or most of the area selling out (the Springhill Suites appears to be fully refundable up until a few days before your stay, but you should confirm this during the check-out procedure)
