I am trying to book a hotel somewhere in downtown Chicago for the night of 11/29-11/30 (last minute I know!!). I have not had any luck thus far finding something that meets my budget. I am trying to spend under $140 including fees, but if I have no options I suppose I could go a bit higher. I am simply looking for a decent place to stay in a safe part of town, and somewhere downtown or close to where there is a bit of nightlife. If a 2 1/2* or 2* hotel will fit this criteria then I am open to it as well. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to approach bidding? I was able to secure a room for 11/30-12/2 at the Hilton Palmer, but for some reason the night of 11/29-11/30 has proven to be a bit more difficult. Any help is greatly appreciated. I will be sure to share any results.Thank you!

Thank you.Not sure why, but the 29th is an extremely busy date in the city - the cheapest HOTWIRE rate downtown is $151 for a 1*.
