Priceline Hotel: Help with priceline /hotwire bidding

Hi all.Im looking to book a room for just me around Times sq or Madison sq area.I am looking to book around 4th Dec for 4 nights though not stuck on that date .Any advice would be great because as im doing this on my own i need to keep costs down.I had booked with Hotwire a couple of years ago with help from here but im stuck for some reason on booking now and dont know which site to use.Someone please advise what cost i can expect.I would love somewhere thats clean as have experienced bedbugs before so above a 2 star would be great .Thanks

Specific events aside, based upon seasonality factors this is one of the most expensive weeks in NYC... although i am seeing some properties priced a bit less then i would expect. Depending upon just how flexible your plans truly are, you can probably save a bit of money if you're able to delay starting this trip until 12/15 or 12/16.

To begin, everything will be predicated based upon your budget... what is your upper limit for a room for this trip?

Which zones are you willing to accept? Are you still looking for a 2* hotel? If a higher rated hotel is available within your budget, is that of interest, or is your goal the least expensive 2* or better for this stay?
