I tried one bid yesterday from Priceline for $60 and 3 star in the historic district which was rejected. Priceline seems like a big unknown to me. Many of the places that Priceline list in St A are bed and breakfast. How do I know if I'm bidding on a hotel? If I find out $87 will get me a place that I like from Hotwire, then I can decide weather it's worth trying for an unknown at a lower price from Priceline.

joe c Posted November 23, 2011 Author Report Posted November 23, 2011 I haven't bid on priceline for Ft Lauderdale yet. The friend that we will be visiting in Ft L wants us to stay in a hotel that is closer to where he lives. He has a friend who is the manager of a hotel near his home and she said that she would give us a deal if we called her. If we like the hotel and price then we won't use priceline. For now Ft L is on hold. The St Augustine stay is part of the same visit to Florida.

joe c Posted November 27, 2011 Author Report Posted November 27, 2011 After your Nov 23 post I clicked the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links and rechecked St Augustine for March 10-12. I found that hotwire had gone up a dollar and was now $88.
thereuare Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 The HOTWIRE property above matches previous reports for the Wingate Inn so that would be my best guess for this one. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. joe c Posted December 1, 2011 Author Report Posted December 1, 2011 Although I like the Windgate brand I did not book this Hotel. It was too far out of town. I ended up booking the Country Inn & Suites Downtown for $109. Thanks for your help.
