hello all,

i decided to try bidding on priceline for a car. Only after my bid was immediately accepted did i remember this site. did i lose out on some potential savings?? Just after i bid, i saw a page called pricebreaker deAls where full size cars are going for $17/day. here i was thinking i had scored at $35/day and now i see suggestions to bid $17/day!

i have plans to rent a fullsize SUV for about a month in late JAN for a long road trip in maryland i had seen prices of $48/day for SUVs and was budgeting that i would have to stick with budget motels or tent camping at that rate. (or sleep in the car).

but if i can get $17/day on a SUV, then i can get a decent hotel in addition to that!

any advice?

Regarding your Maryland trip, SUV and other 'specialty' vehicles are usually not discounted as much as compact, economy, midsize, etc vehicles... they don't have as many specialty vehicles on the lot so are less likely to discount them as deeply, instead holding for customers who need that vehicle type and willing to pay a premium for them. With the previous sentence noted, deals are often available, but a 65% discount would not be likely. However, if you need hotel(s) along the way for this road trip i'm sure we can easily help you with savings on your lodging costs.

Please add the rental agency in a reply to this thread, then if you'd like help with your January road trip, either lodging or car rental, please start a NEW TOPIC (since this thread already reflects your Daytona rental)
