kpet Posted November 21, 2011 Report Posted November 21, 2011 What would be the best guess on the following 4* hotels?Midtown Central-$233/nAmenities: Fitness Center, Restaurant, Business Center, High Speed Internet AccessRecommended:In 90% of Hotwire customer reviews.Times Square-Theatre District-$284/nAmenities: Fitness Center, Restaurant, Business Center, High Speed Internet AccessRecommended:In 90% of Hotwire customer reviews. Thanks for the help!
thereuare Posted November 21, 2011 Report Posted November 21, 2011 The amenities are quote common for NYC (as evidenced by both hotels showing the same amenities). For the MTC property the Helmsley Park Lane, Royalton, Sheraton New York, Sofitel and Warwick have all been seen with this amenity set, so any of these would be among the likely outcomes. There are fair numbers of Times Square properties with these amenities as well, with the Crowne Plaza, Hilton Times Square, InterContinental Times Square, and Millennium Broadway all having been seen with this amenity combination.Have you also considered the 4* MTE property for $245/nite?Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. kpet Posted November 21, 2011 Author Report Posted November 21, 2011 Thank you Thereuare for the reply! I would prefer to stay nearer Times Square b/c we are visiting friends that live at 52nd btwn 8th and 9th. In looking further at the Midtown Central property when I click on details it does give me a bed choice of a king or 2 doubles. I'm wondering if this might be the Warwick then b/c I saw another post where that was mentioned? I usually prefer using PRICELINE just b/c I know I can get a better deal, but may go for this HOTWIRE property and take my chances, b/c I do like the Warwick. I'll use the links provided here and let you know the outcome when I do!

kpet Posted November 22, 2011 Author Report Posted November 22, 2011 Thanks for the input! Still pondering what I am going to do, PRICELINE vs HOTWIRE, since now the Midtown Central property has gone up to $242/n. I have a backup reservation at the Park Central for $218/n that is cancelable, and I don't really want to stay there, but was kind of nervous about this busy time of year so grabbed it when I saw it several weeks ago. I will keep you posted as to what I do.
kpet Posted November 23, 2011 Author Report Posted November 23, 2011 Well, when you snooze you lose!! Went back yesterday thru the HOTWIRE link provided here, to book the Midtown Central property that had gone up to $242, and it was gone! Found a Travelzoo promotion for the Warwick for $269 which is decent for my dates, (on other sites, is showing $440 for my dates), and I like the hotel, so booked that. My reservation can be cancelled 72 hours prior so if closer to my dates prices start dropping I may still see about saving some $ on either PRICELINE or HOTWIRE! Appreciate this board and the info provided!
thereuare Posted November 23, 2011 Report Posted November 23, 2011 Glad you have a good back-up reservation... let us know if any changes to your plans. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.
