hj231 Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 Used link on this site to access PRICELINE.com.Bid strategy: First Attempt: Tried yesterday starting at $85.00 for 4* in BH/West Hollywood. Bid rejected (as I expected). I re-bid with Culver City as my re-bid zone to $95.00. Bid was rejected. I did not use the other 4* re-bid zones because I was not really in a hurry on this reservation and was willing to pay up to $130/night and really was just testing waters.Second Attempt: Based on other wins reported online and comparing retail prices for these dates and Hotwire hotel offers for these dates, I figured $120 would be a reasonable rate. After my 24 hours had elapsed I bid again for $110.00 for BH/West Hollywood. Bid was counter offered by Priceline at $138.00 and told that a hotel would accept this price. I added Culver City as my re-bid and went to $120.00, which was accepted at the Beverly Hilton. This was actually one of my first choice hotels since the reservation is for my parents and they would not have been happy with something up on the Sunset strip or something that catered to a younger crowd. Thanks!
