thereuare Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 Does this replace, or is it in addition to, your previous Hotwire Disneyland thread? Will you be going to this area twice in a month or only making one of these trips? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
rk4750 Posted November 20, 2011 Author Report Posted November 20, 2011 I was looking for my earlier post. I could not find it. Secondly I do NOT go to disneyland twice a month. The earlier trip was originally planned for my daughters birthday. If we make it now Nov 22 - 24(son's bday) we would not be going in Dec. Please consider this in addition to that. I may not need a reply to that one yet. I shall delete the other one later.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------2* - $34 Anaheim - Disneyland North area hotel Amenities:Complimentary Breakfast, Pool(s), Laundry Facilities (self-service), High-Speed Internet AccessResort fee of about US$ 5 per room per nightRecommended: In 65% of Hotwire customer reviews----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------This looks like a good deal too.I do click the hotwire and PRICELINE links for every search and intend to book the hotel through BB. Yet to score a deal though :(.
AaronJB Posted November 20, 2011 Report Posted November 20, 2011 The 2* Anaheim North is a possible match for the Travelodge. The 3* North is a possible match for the Holiday Inn Anaheim. I'm seeing a different 3.5* South; are you still seeing that listing when searching?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
rk4750 Posted November 20, 2011 Author Report Posted November 20, 2011 1. Is it possible that the 2* could be some hotel LIKE "Anaheim Rodeway Inn Maingate" which has terrible reviews. (I got this hotel name from some other post in the forum )I wouldn't want to ruin the vacation for a few $$. But again if I am looking at Travelodge with fair amount of confidence, I would pull the trigger in a jiffy. 2. I don't see the 3.5* South anymore. 3. Does price line let us know upfront if the hotel charges resort/ parking / internet fees before we bid on a hotel?

But again if I am looking at Travelodge with fair amount of confidence, I would pull the trigger in a jiffy. The Rodeway in this zone has not yet been reported to the board thru HOTWIRE. However, if you scan the Hotwire Hotel List there are many Rodeway properties (in other cities/zones) which are 2* rated. Therefore it's certainly possible that a Rodeway in this zone is 2* rated, but there would be no way to know until it's reported to the board, but likewise there is no way to know if this property in this zone even participates with HOTWIRE.However, i will note that this 2* property only shows 65% recommended by previous HOTWIRE guests, which is fairly low, so although i can't say if the above is the Rodeway or not, i would think if you're looking for something 'nice' it would be best to pay a little more.3. Does price line let us know upfront if the hotel charges resort/ parking / internet fees before we bid on a hotel? No, these fees are not disclosed by PRICELINE before your bid (and usually you need to visit the hotel's website to learn of any resort, parking, etc fees. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and/or how it goes OR your current thoughts and we'll take it from there.PS- we'll leave this thread and your previous thread separate, but please be sure to 'close' both... one with the purchase info and the other referencing that you purchased for alternate dates. Ideally all threads on the board should have a conclusion as it helps keep the board better organized and more useful for everyone. Thanks. rk4750 Posted November 20, 2011 Author Report Posted November 20, 2011 Would 75% be considered a good hotel? This came up just now. Would it be similar to Travelodge which seems to be located really well and decent.2* - Disneyland South ( In 75% of Hotwire customer reviews. )Complimentary Breakfast, Pool(s), Laundry Facilities (self-service), High-Speed Internet Access$44.00 per room, per nightI will close all the threads upon purchase. rk4750 Posted November 21, 2011 Author Report Posted November 21, 2011 Dates 11/22 to 11/27PRICELINE - 3.5* Disneyland - Anaheim South - Orange - Garden Grove - $43 bid failed. What's my next strategy? Do I increase the bid to $50? Will that fail too? Add Disney North and bid 45 ?***During our search for your price of $43, we found a hotel that would accept a price of $60 per room, per night. Rooms fill up quickly, but there is a good chance that we can book this hotel if you raise your price and try again below. Your credit card has not yet been charged.***OOPS: The results changed when I added two kids.PRICEY ALTERNATIVE FOR ME - Dates 11/22 to 11/27The best HOTWIRE I have currently is - Anaheim - Disneyland North area hotel - 3* Offer is @$53/day + $15 resort fee + taxes = $389.29. (Recommended in 85 % of Hotwire customer reviews)- Amenities: Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry, Internet--don't know the ID of the hotel - Hope its Holiday Inn.Dates 11/22 to 11/27PRICELINE - 3.5* Disneyland - Anaheim South - Orange - Garden Grove - $43 bid failed.will move this to PL thread after my trip
thereuare Posted November 21, 2011 Report Posted November 21, 2011 I'm having a hard time following this thread...From your topic title and the HOTWIRE hotels we looked at above, that was all for a 2 nite stay from 11/22-11/24... but you've just tried bidding on PRICELINE for a 5 nites stay from 11/22-11/27??As well, you're not really comparing apples-to-apples... you're bidding 3.5* on PRICELINE and comparing to a 3* on HOTWIRE (which may be 3* or 2.5* rated on PRICELINE). As well, you're comparing the HOTWIRE rate for quad occupancy vs. the PRICELINE rate which would only be for double occupancy. What exactly are your goal(s) for this stay and are your 11/22-11/27 dates now firm? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
