I tried bidding for San Diego for 03/22/2012-03/31/2012 for several weeks now and usually went up twice a week to about 120 USD per night without any success. I will be attending a conference during the last week of March 2012 in San Diego and hotel rooms contracted by the conference's organizers start at 185 USD.

Today I received a 5 USD/night Bonus Cash (up to 50 USD) so I decided to bid again.

I wanted to stay in a 4* hotel and I wanted to stay downtown: so a lot of rebid zones.

I redeemed my bonus cash,

... logged in to my account and started bidding:

The W has prices on their website starting at 319 USD per night (on Expedia.com it's avg. 328 USD per night)...

so I saved 68% (comparing it to my price incl. fees & taxes)!!
