trab Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 Can anyone provide insight to prices / bidding on 2.5 to 3 star hotel Dec. 3-6, 2011?Thanks!
AaronJB Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Please provide your desired max bid per night and we would be happy to offer suggestions.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted November 23, 2011 Report Posted November 23, 2011 One more question...Did you want to bid up to your limit for a 3* hotel, then if rejected try for a 2.5*... OR is your goal the least expensive 2.5* or better for this stay?Let us know and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. trab Posted November 28, 2011 Author Report Posted November 28, 2011 Yes. I've been burned buy Hotwire's supposed 2.5* hotels in the past. Tend to look at positive rating percentages. Thanks.
thereuare Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 Taking a closer look at this thread i see that you mention bidding but that it's in the HOTWIRE section of the board and you mention HOTWIRE above, so i'm going to assume that either service is fine? (as i'm not sure which is your preference)Using MAPS and HOTELS.com it appears that there are some 3* rated hotels available thru a direct purchase within your budget ($57-$62) if you'd like to choose the hotel (or if you're PRICELINE bidding fails)Searching HOTWIRE for your dates there is nothing at the 3* level, and while the 2.5* is offered at $45, it has a very low 65% recommendation rate which i assume would keep you away.If you want to try bidding on PRICELINE, i assume it's the Dayton South zone you're interested in? If so, you can try as follows:At the 3* level you have TWO re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.(NOTE: 're-bid zone1' is not the same as priceline's Zone1, 're-bid zone2' is not the same as priceline's Zone2, etc, etc)Select 3* Dayton South...Bid $35, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $40, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Dayton South and re-bid zone2...Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $50Any questions feel free to ask.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if/how we can be of further help. thereuare Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread (i'm assuming this latest HOTWIRE hotel is for the same dates as the original post of this thread??)What are the amenities associated with this 2* property... or if you have purchased this what are the amenities HOTWIRE associates with it?Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
