Hotwire Hotel: Help ID 2 hotels

Hey guys,

I am looking to visit NYC for the first time and need help IDing these 2 hotels.

Staying January 2nd-5th

Midtown East 3.5* for $113 a night Recommended in 85% hotwire reviews

Amenities are Fitness center, business center, restaurant and high speed internet

or

Central Park 2* $77

Recommended in 70%

Amenities are Fitness center, business center, restaurant and high speed internet

Is 2 stars for $77 too good to be true? Are some parts of central park kinda sketchy for tourists? or too far away

to get to main attractions in NYC?

The Central Park zone goes pretty far North, and is definitely not an area I'd recommend, as it can be inconvenient. Additionally, at the 2.5* level and under, hotels in NYC can definitely be more inconsistent in terms of quality. The 2* has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board. It MIGHT be the Days Inn Broadway with a previously unreported internet icon, but it could also be something else, as well. The 3.5* is a possible match for the Roosevelt or Hilton Manhattan East.

What would be your desired budget per night and which zone/s would be acceptable?

Rates shouldn't be too high for these dates and unless you're looking for something in particular for this trip, i would avoid the 2* Central Park property above and, assuming your budget is more inline with the 3.5* hotel inquired about, would sooner bid on PRICELINE for a 3.5* or 4* hotel. If you let us know your maximum budget we'll advise accordingly.
