The "Guaranteed Amenities" are a new feature of PRICELINE so we're still observing/learning, but i don't think you're bidding on a specific hotel... rather these are amenities that all hotels at this star level in the zone have. The idea being that you may only want a hotel with a Pool so PRICELINE may not have been an option, even though all hotels in the zone at that star rating had a pool (although there would have been no way to know this)... now, PRICELINE is letting you know that all hotels in the zone at the designated star level have a pool (so they're hoping that you bid on a hotel rather than look at HOTWIRE, Expedia, Travelocity, Orbitz, etc)

Unfortunately not. You can't bid on, avoid, or target a specific hotel when using PRICELINE, you have to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you choose.

With HOTWIRE you can often take an educated guess as to what is being offered based upon the amenities associated with the property, but it's still a 'best guess' and no guarantees you will receive the hotel you're hoping for. As well, HOTWIRE only shows one hotel at each star level per zone, so there is a chance the hotel you're hoping for isn't the one which is offered for your particular dates.

Let us know how you'd like to proceed or if we can be of further help.

Hmm, how does one get to this "guaranteed amenities" part of Priceline? This appears to be similar to Hotwire? I'm getting ready to start bidding for an upcoming trip to Singapore and would like to understand a benchmark price (or frankly, just purchase this deal), if I can find this type of pricing. Thanks!

Bluepig,

The "guaranteed amenities" note appears when selecting star rating and does not appear in every area and may not appear for every day. This is not a way to guarantee a particular property, but is helpful in knowing that there's a (for example) pool in the possible hotel/s if one is looking for a pool.

Please start a new thread for your own stay and we would be happy to help.

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

You can see all hotels reported to the board, and the corresponding zones, in the Priceline Hotel List.

When should I'll start bidding? January?

Why not now? See the related "Bid Early or Close to Check-in" link in our PRICELINE FAQ for more information on timing your bids.

As per above, are you willing to accept any 5* hotel in this zone OR are you only interested in the Conrad?

What is your maximum bid for this stay?

Wanted specially the Conrad, but the Stamford will also be ok.

Just like you can't choose one specific hotel, you can't limit your choices to two hotels either ;)

Are you willing to accept any 5* hotels (as determined by PRICELINE) in the zone(s) that you choose? If so, which zone(s) are acceptable?

Did you read the Priceline Re-Bidding Explained thread?

If you've already read that and are confused, try this:

1) Use the PRICELINE search box on the upper right of this page, enter Singapore and your dates, and click "GO".

2) List each zone that is offered in this region.

3) Next to each zone list the highest star rating offered in the zone. The way to determine the highest star rating offered in the zone is by selecting the first zone i the list, then scrolling down to see the highest star rating selectable (ie- not greyed out). NEXT UNcheck the selected zone, place a checkmark in the next zone, and repeat the process for each zone in the region. Each time you take note of the highest star rating in the zone, make sure that only ONE zone is selected above.

4) post your findings and we'll take it from there

If you don't follow the above just post back and we'll break it down further.
