FJT Posted November 7, 2011 Report Posted November 7, 2011 I am going to NYC for the Thanksgiving (thurs to sun) and wanted to know what hotels I can get near central park. I am going with 2 other couples and I thought this would a good way to get a good hotel for a good price. What should I bid for a 4 to 5 star hotel? Will I get to choose different hotels?Comments greatly appreciated.
AaronJB Posted November 8, 2011 Report Posted November 8, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Please take a look at this thread: I've Never Used Priceline or Hotwire for more details on both services. The list of PRICELINE hotels that have been reported to the board can be found here: Priceline Hotel List. That is the list of hotels that have been reported to the board - new hotels can be reported at any time. There is no way to ensure/increase the odds of getting a particular property. When bidding, one has to willing to accept any of the possible properties in that zone at that star rating. You do not get to choose from hotels. PRICELINE shows a map of the bidding zones during the first step of the check-out process; which zones would be acceptable for your stay?Additionally, how many rooms do you need, and what would be your desired budget per night?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

FJT Posted November 8, 2011 Author Report Posted November 8, 2011 Thank you AaronJBI'm looking for 2 rooms in a 4+ to 5 star hotel with a budget of up to $350 per night. I would like to be at the start of Central Park or south of there. I believe that is around 59th St. at 5th.
thereuare Posted November 8, 2011 Report Posted November 8, 2011 I would like to be at the start of Central Park or south of there. If you use the PRICELINE search box on the top right corner of this page and enter "NYC" along with your dates you'll be take directly to the page with the PRICELINE regions/zones on it for the NYC area. If you look at the map, are you willing to accept a hotel anywhere within the shaded boundaries of the MTE, MTW, CPS, TS and/or ESB zones? This are the most frequently bid zones at the 4* level but you should look at each and confirm that these should work for your own plans.I don't think you're budget will be a problem... you should be able to get something for well under $350/nite, imo. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please confirm if the above zones are acceptable and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
