nutttbar Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 Looking for bidding assistance on Priceline for a minimum 3 star hotel, 3 rooms precruise on February 24th. I don't see any wins in that hotel range so I don't have an idea of where to start the bidding. Any suggestions would be appreciated....Thanks!
AaronJB Posted November 7, 2011 Report Posted November 7, 2011 Please provide a follow-up for your prior Hotwire Florida thread (post what you decided for that stay, then reply to this thread.)Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
nutttbar Posted November 7, 2011 Author Report Posted November 7, 2011 Sorry, that wasn't updated because I ended up booking retail, not using Hotwire or Priceline. I've updated that thread now.
thereuare Posted November 7, 2011 Report Posted November 7, 2011 Please check for and use the links in our Support Page whenever possible for your hotel direct purchase, as we have links to most of the major hotel chains and online booking agencies. What is your maximum budget for the stay above? Are you willing to pay more for a higher rated hotel OR is your goal the least expensive 3* or better for this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... please click this PRICELINE link before replying.Thanks. nutttbar Posted November 7, 2011 Author Report Posted November 7, 2011 This stay is a very short one so the least expensive 3* would probably work best. Maximum budget will be around $110 or so I hope - but we will need something so if we have to spend a little more we will. It's less about budget and more about not wanting to go less than 3*.Will do the link thing next time - didn't know you had links to retail as well.

thereuare Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 At the 3* level you have ONE re-bid zones (NOTE: Rio Grande-Jajardo-El Yunque is not a re-bid zone, even though this zone doesn't have 3* hotels, it does have Resort class properties, and if included your 3* bid could be upgraded to a Resort class property)With time on your side i would begin:Select 3* San Juan...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $70If rejected wait 24 hours and repeat, increasing each bid by $5, then continue to repeat every 24 hours until you reach your $110 limit (so your bidding pairs will be $75/$80, $85/$90, $95/$100, $105/$110)Please return to the board and use the PRICELINE link here to begin your bidding (and not the link from any emails PRICELINE may send informing you that you're eligible to bid again)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. nutttbar Posted November 10, 2011 Author Report Posted November 10, 2011 I've made the first bid and it wasn't accepted and just want be clear before rebidding with the re-bid zone. Looks to me like I should be using Cabo Rojo as the zone to be added as it's only showing 2* 1* accommodation. Can you please confirm?Thanks....Ken
thereuare Posted November 11, 2011 Report Posted November 11, 2011 Yes, you have your re-bid zones correct (but always double check again just before bidding to make sure that nothing has changed)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck.
