izimba Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 Had been bidding on this for a while, going as high as $82 with no luck. But tonight, I noticed Hotwire had a different hotel available in this zone for these nights, and at a lower rate than I'd been seeing. So I figured I'd do better with Priceline.I started at $68 and got an $83 counteroffer. Instead of taking it, I used free rebids and tried $70 and $72 before finding success at $74. With taxes and fees, my total for three nights is $261.78.We make this trip every year for Thanksgiving, and $74 is the most we've ever paid for a Coral Gables 4* -- we typically nail one for $63-$65. But at least it's better than $82 or more.
